Ruben Warr is ready for the spotlight.
On Saturday he takes center stage in the Main Event of BKFC Fight Night: Los Angeles at the iconic Thunder Studios in The Entertainment Capital of the World, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
“I’m so ready. This is the best I’ve ever felt,” Warr says ahead of his weekend showdown with top Ukrainian lightweight contender Bovar Khanakov.
“I’ve got an amazing coach behind me, and I feel like everything is really starting to come together at the ideal time. I’m stronger, faster and more accurate than I’ve ever been. Sparring has been great, being in there with bigger opponents.
“I’m right where I need to be.”
Warr is honored to showcase his skills in the Main Event of BKFC’s highly anticipated return to California. However, he has the same mindset any time he enters the Squared Circle.
“Whether I’m in the Main Event, Co-Main Event or the Prelims — none of that matters to me,” he says. “My only goal is to be the greatest bare knuckle fighter of all time, and I’m going to keep knocking people out in the first round.”
Warr is 2-0, 1 NC in his blossoming BKFC career. Both of his wins have come by first-round knockout. Most recently he needed just six seconds to take out UFC vet Robbie Peralta in the Main Event of BKFC Fight Night: Pechanga in July. He’s hungry to keep his KO streak alive in Los Angeles.
“I’m knocking this man out in the first round,” he says. “Mark my words.”
Warr isn’t looking past Saturday’s assignment in the Squared Circle, but he has his sights set on Rico Franco, the newly crowned BKFC World Lightweight Champion.
“The belt belongs in America,” he says.
“I don’t care if I’ve gotta go to Spain or Argentina, or if he has to come over here. Tony Soto tried and failed; he doesn’t deserve a rematch. I want the belt, and I deserve the belt because I’m doing things with BKFC that nobody else is doing. This is my fourth fight in a year, I’m knocking people out in three seconds, and I’m getting better each and every time.”
