“King” Kai Stewart defended his throne Saturday on DAZN.
Stewart successfully defended his BKFC World Featherweight Title for the third time with a unanimous decision over Jimmie Rivera at the sold-out First Interstate Arena in Billings, MT. The 24-year-old Great Falls, MT product improved to 7-0 with the victory.
Stewart is rapidly establishing himself as a homegrown face of the franchise with BKFC – but he says he’s just warming up.
“I put on a clinic with a legend, but I’m just 24 and I still have a lot to learn,” he says.
“From here on out, I’m just going to keep getting better and keep having fun. That’s all I’m doing out there – I’m having fun and I’m working hard to get better.”
Some fighters in Stewart’s position might subconsciously take their foot off the gas as accolades continue to mount. That’s not the case for Stewart.
“We’re all gas, no brakes,” he says.
“I don’t own my Montana ranch with a creek running through it yet, and I’m not taking my foot off the gas until I get there. I still have a job to do. I truly am the king of the BKFC. I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I’m doing it to the best of my ability. David Feldman and Conor McGregor won’t be disappointed for putting their chips all in on me.”
