Andrew Strode is his own toughest critic.
Strode improved to 3-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Tyler Randall in his most recent bout at the sold-out Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. Strode rose to the occasion against Randall, who entered fight night as the No. 3 contender in the BKFC flyweight division, but the unbeaten Denver product is humble in victory.
“I’d give my performance a ‘C’ — it could’ve been a lot better,” Strode says. “I thought it was going to be a more exciting show for the fans, but it was still a pretty good win against a very tough, seasoned opponent.”
While Strode is always hunting for the finish, he believes his 3-0 start in the stacked BKFC flyweight division should make him the No. 1 contender to challenge John “The Magician” Dodson for the belt later this year.
“I think I’ve cleared out the division at this point,” he says. “I’m open to fight whoever BKFC has for me, and go along with their plan, but I believe I’ve proven that I’m ready for the title fight.”
Strode has a simple prediction for a possible showdown with Dodson.
“I think it would be one of the best fights in the history of BKFC,” the undefeated Strode says with a smile. “I’m ready to bring home the belt.”
