Karl Thompson is good as gold.

On Saturday, the undefeated Sedgefield, England fighter won the vacant BKFC United Kingdom Cruiserweight Championship with a first-round stoppage over the previously unbeaten Rob Boardman in the Main Event of BKFC Fight Night: Newcastle, LIVE globally on The BKFC App from the sold-out Walker Activity Dome in Newcastle, England.

Thompson has been at home in the ring since he was nine years old. He’s won his share of gloved boxing titles along the way, but Saturday’s United Kingdom Championship victory is undoubtedly the pinnacle of his combat sports career.

“The belt means everything to me,” Thompson says.

“It’s a testament to all the hard work we’ve put into training and all the hard work outside of the ring. This belt proves that everything is paying off and everything is coming together.”

Thompson is proud to be a BKFC United Kingdom Champion, but he’s already eager to add another belt to his mantle. Nobody will be watching more intently on April 26 than Thompson, when Chris Camozzi defends his BKFC World Cruiserweight Championship against Lorenzo Hunt at BKFC Italy, LIVE worldwide on DAZN.

“I’d love to fight the winner of that fight,” Thompson says.

“I want to show America and the rest of the world what I can do, and I can only do that by fighting the best of the best.”
