Cody Russell made his Squared Circle debut on BKFC’s biggest stage.
At the most-watched event in bare knuckle fighting history — KnuckleMania V at the sold-out Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia — the proud Philadelphian sent Logan Tucker to the canvas five times before their bout was stopped in the third round.
More than 17,000 fans paid to attend KnuckleMania V, and millions more enjoyed the show worldwide on DAZN.
Russell knew that keeping a cool head under the bright lights would be essential in his debut, and that’s exactly what the 29-year-old fighter did.
“My mindset was just to be calm and composed,” he says. “A lot of fighters go out there and try to be rowdy, but my goal was to take the opposite approach.
“I’m happy with how I was able to keep my composure throughout the fight,” he adds. “I think I showed in every aspect that I’m on a different level than my opponent, and that I have potential to do some damage in this division.”
Russell would like to keep his momentum rolling and compete consistently throughout 2025. He has big goals in BKFC’s stacked middleweight division.
“Wherever I’m fighting, my goal is to work my way up the weight class until I’m the best in the division,” he says. “That’s exactly what I plan on doing with BKFC, one fight at a time.”
