Justin Ibarrola left no stone unturned heading into his most recent trip to the BKFC Squared Circle.
“This is the most serious that I’ve taken a fight camp,” Ibarrola says.
“I stayed on top of my nutrition, didn’t take many days off and didn’t miss any workout sessions. I forced myself to stay locked in at all times.”
The juice was worth the squeeze. The Delray Beach, FL-based Seattle, WA product smashed his way to 6-0 with a second-round TKO over Derek Perez at BKFC on DAZN: Hollywood at the sold-out Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on DAZN.
“I entered the fight with great conditioning. I could’ve put on that pace for five rounds, and that’s how I’m going to be from here on out — dominant,” Ibarrola says.
“I’m still going to have fun and dance around in there like I usually do, but I’m going to be more aggressive moving forward.”
2024 has been a breakout year for Ibarrola, who entered fight night as the No. 2 contender in the stacked BKFC bantamweight division. He’s now 4-0 with three finishes this year and has even bigger goals for 2025.
“One year from today, I see myself as the face of BKFC — a major superstar in bare knuckle fighting. I have what it takes to be that person, both in terms of fighting skill and showmanship,” he says.
“The fans are loving me, and more importantly the kids are looking up to me. I plan on being the first homegrown BKFC fighter making six figures a fight.”
