Marbella is knocking out the summer in style, welcoming BKFC Spain 2024 for the first time. Argentine Franco Tenaglia battles Tony “Loco” Soto for the vacant lightweight belt in the main event.

Two additional Championship bouts serve as the curtain-raiser for the big one. Austin Trout fights “Bon Bon” Franco to defend his Welterweight title, while David Mundell looks to retain his Middleweight belt.

BKFC Spain Schedule

BKFC Spain 2024 festivities kick off on Thursday, 10 October, with the highly anticipated press conference. The hype continues on Friday when the fighters weigh-in, the last encounter before we get down to business in Marbella. Fight day gets underway at 1PM EDT on Saturday.

Vacant Lightweight Championship: Tenaglia vs Soto

Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto are the headline act vying for the lightweight title. Tenaglia now resides in Spain and will relish the local support. The fight marks a milestone for Soto, who is now a full-time fighter, after recently resigning as a correctional services officer.

“Loco” Soto carries a 6-0-0 record entering the fight and is the clear favorite. He is a well- rounded fighter who can easily switch tactics in the ring. However, Franco will look to use his “gritty” style to grind down Tony. Tenaglia is no slouch. He has a 3-0-0 record and the reach advantage in this duel.

BKFC Welterweight Championship: Trout vs Franco

The penultimate event of the evening sees Austin Trout fighting in his third BKFC event, already defending a title. He has two wins in the Squared Circle over Diego Sanchez and Luis Palomino, the ladder of which Trout obtained his belt. The American faces an experienced Rico Franco, with a 9-2-0 career record. Despite his inexperience in bare knuckle fighting, Trout boasts an outstanding professional boxing record. He won 36 fights in his career and only lost 5, including one where he went the distance with Canelo Alvarez.

Middleweight Championship: Mundell vs Christie

The largest men fighting for a title on Saturday are David Mundell and Danny Christie. “Redneck” Mundell is defending the title holder, boasting 8 wins and a single loss in his bare knuckle career. British-based Christie enters the ring winning 5 of his six encounters. You can expect Christie to probe Mundell for weaknesses throughout. However, the defending champ is a power puncher with an elusive defense.
