Rick Caruso wants to leave no doubt in Denver

“Slick” Rick Caruso hopes redemption is waiting for him at BKFC 67 in Denver.

On Oct. 25 at the iconic Denver Coliseum, Caruso will take part in a highly anticipated rematch with Brandon Bushaw.

Caruso and Bushaw first met at BKFC 42 in 2023. The bout was declared a no contest after Caruso absorbed an unintentional illegal blow to the back of his head. The outcome is still a sore spot for Caruso, who wanted to continue fighting despite the referee calling a premature end to the bout.

Caruso wanted an immediate rematch. It took a while, but he came to peace with the controversial outcome and moved on with his combat career. Caruso has fought twice since the bout, and Bushaw has competed once since then.

But when the opportunity arose to run it back, Caruso was all too happy to sign on the dotted line. He foresees a much more satisfactory outcome this time around.

“I’m definitely going to finish him,” he says with a smile. “There won’t be any doubt this time.”

More important than earning a bit of redemption in Denver, Caruso is excited to win this fight and move up the rankings in BKFC’s stacked featherweight division.

“The only reason to be in this game is to be the best. And to be the best, you’ve got to work your way up the ladder,” he says.

“My goal is to be the best.”
