Alex Delgado-Lopez’s BKFC debut couldn’t have gone much better.
In BKFC’s recent return to Canada, Delgado-Lopez defeated Jennifer Ruiz via second-round TKO at the sold-out River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton.
“The plan was to show off my boxing a bit more and utilize more of my footwork, but I just got excited and started brawling,” she says with a laugh.
“But I got the results that I wanted, minus the cut on my face, so I’m really happy with how it went.”
It’s safe to say that Delgado-Lopez will be back in the Squared Circle as BKFC continues to establish itself in “The Great White North.”
She has big goals with BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion.
“I want to be the first Albertan female fighter on the BKFC roster, I want to be the first Albertan female fighter to fight on the Main Card,” the Edmonton fighter says.
“My inspiration is to get the 115 belt, and then challenge for the 125 belt.”
Holding a BKFC World Championship – or two BKFC World Championships – would be a dream come true for the longtime combat sports athlete.
“The only thing that could prevent me from getting to that level is if I don’t believe in myself and don’t put the work in,” she says.
“But I do believe in myself, and I am putting the work in.”
