A lightbulb flicked on in Tyler Jones’ head when he was introduced to BKFC.
“I was watching one of the Florida events that BKFC was putting on about two years ago and, I don’t know, I just thought that this was something that I could do,” he says.
It turns out Jones was right.
He was recently victorious in his BKFC debut, dropping Ira Johnson three times en route to a third-round TKO victory at BKFC Fight Night Kansas City at the sold-out Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS.
“It went exactly as I thought it would,” Jones says when asked about his impressive debut in the Squared Circle, which aired LIVE globally on The BKFC App.
“I’m still working on becoming the striker that I want to be. There’s still a lot that I’ve got to work on. I’m still at one percent; I’m a student of the fight game, and I always will be.”
The 29-year-old Quincy, IL fighter is hoping for a quick turnaround. He knows he has a long way to go, but Jones has supersized goals in the Squared Circle – and he’s embracing the grind.
“My dream is to be the BKFC World Champion,” he says.
“Everybody eventually inevitably forgets your name when you die. But for people who have that title next to their name, they’ll always be remembered. No matter what, people will remember me as a World Champion because I’m going to cement my name in the history books.
“Being a World Champion means everything to me.”
